Murungai keerai(tamil)--Moringa Oleifera
Moringa oleifera is a tree, that is native to India. It is also known as the drumstick tree, due to the shape of its long, thin leaves. Moringa has been used for centuries in traditional Indian medicine.
Moringa is a plant that is often called the drumstick tree, the miracle tree, then been used for centuries due to its medicinal properties and health benefits.
Moringa Oleifra soup or murungaikeerai thanni saru(tamil)
Ingredients
Moringa leaves or Murungai keerai -250 gm
Moong dal- 2 tablespoon
Fenugreek seeds - 1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder - 1 spoon
Onion - 1
one green chilli
cumin powder-1 teaspoon
Mustard seeds- 1 tablespoon
red chilli - 2
salt as required
water - 1/2 liter
Step 1: First wash the Moringa leaves and keep them aside. Then keep a pan on the stove and boil moong dal and fenugreek with the required water.
Step 2: Once lentils are boiled then add onion and green chili, After 2 minutes add Turmeric powder, salt, and cumin powder.Step 3: After 5 minutes add moringa leaves, then boiled them for 5 minutes and off the stove.
Step 4: Finally keep a Kadai on the stove and pour one spoon of oil and put mustard, red chili in the oil.
Step 5:When the mustard seeds splutter, add them to the moringa soup. Serve hot.Recent studies have shown that moringa leaf extract can have a variety of health benefits.
